How Printwaste can help you with GDPR

April 3, 2019

You will be aware no doubt of the new law regarding data protection. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on May 25th 2018 and will be enforced through the Information Commissioners Office.

 GDPR

I imagine you have received countless volumes of information on the subject already and we just want to let you know that as the approved Gloucestershire County Council provider, fully accredited supplier and the NHS approved provider of secure data and shredding services that we are here to help where we can.

GDPR applies to personal data such as, name, address, date of birth, email address and this includes information that has been used in the workplace. The new law also covers all stored data both electronically and hard paper copy. This stored data, if it contains any reference to a person’s name or any identifiable data, will fall under the control procedures outlined in the new regulation.

Also, any data in all formats held by an organisation will need to be stored securely throughout its life-cycle until destroyed.

The new law includes a host of requirements that are important for all our customers to understand. You may be aware of the GDPR ramifications within your organisation regarding storage prior to destruction.

We can provide free lockable office consoles and bins with a range of secure shredding services to ensure your compliance with the new GDPR legislation. Printwaste is registered with the Information Commissioners Office as a data processor as defined within the current Data Protection Act and the new GDPR regulations.

Please email or call us to discuss the new law or to arrange for one of my colleagues to visit you at your convenience.
