How a community effort can make a difference with cardboard recycling

Business RecyclingCardboardNews

This month, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve renewed our existing contract with Gloucestershire County Council. For the past year, we’ve been working together to recycle the cardboard that gets delivered to local Household Waste Recycling Centres (HRCs). These centres operate as a space for the whole community to dispose of their general household and garden waste.

As of 1st April 2018, we’ve renewed this HRC contract (and no, it wasn’t an April Fools’ joke!). So the Council will continue to deliver cardboard to us from five sites in Gloucestershire:

  • Wingmoor – Bishop’s Cleeve
  • Hempsted – Gloucester
  • Oak Quarry – Forest of Dean/Coleford
  • Pyke Quarry – Nailsworth
  • Fosse Cross – Cirencester

This is a great testament to the team at our Stoke Orchard site, who look after the cardboard once it reaches us, and work hard to get it recycled as efficiently as possible.

And, considering that 2,500 tonnes of cardboard gets recycled from these five HRCs every year, renewing this contract is also great news for the environment – demonstrating how well our community can come together to help create a sustainable future.

Delighted at the contract renewal news, Sales Director, Geoff Quayle shared his view:

“We are always proud to win new contracts and even more so when they are renewed as this is testament to our service provision. It is gratifying to work with Gloucestershire County Council extending our relationship that started over 30 years ago.”
