Wood Recycling

Wood recycling has undergone significant changes in recent years with major efforts to reduce volumes going to landfill. There has been an increase of over 40% of wood waste being recycled in the last 10 years alone.

Printwaste Recycling & Shredding has played its part in this, and we now recycle over 1,000 tonnes of wood waste that was previously being sent to landfill including:

  • Desks
  • Cupboards
  • Offcuts
  • Packing Cases
  • Pallets
  • Sheetboards

Three benefits of recycling wood:

  • Low cost, environmentally sound solution to disposing of your pallets and wood waste
  • Save space and reduce fire hazard inside or outside your premises
  • Reduce your spend on skips and avoid landfill costs

What happens to your wood and pallets?

Redundant pallets are re-used, or those that are broken can be repaired, and other recycled wood we collect will go back into making chipboard, higher value fibreboard, and MDF. We will collect any quantity from a lorry load to one pallet – no problem!

By following a different recycling route, other applications may include: garden landscaping through use as mulch, compost, or wood chip for path and highway borders. Recycled wood is also used as animal bedding and flooring for stables.

All of our collections will include the provision of a duty of care waste transfer note to prove that your waste wood has been recycled.
