Delighted to be recognised by the Zero Waste Awards

Business RecyclingNews

Printwaste has been a driving force in the recycling industry for over 30 years, supporting customers with their sustainability strategy, enhancing their business values and contributing towards a circular economy. We are delighted to have received 4 stars in the Zero Waste Awards for the second time.  We are one of only 9 companies in the UK to achieve this status in 2021, with no organisation gaining the coveted five-star award.

Here at Printwaste, we recognise the environmental challenges that our world is currently facing, and we are playing our part to support the circular economy, reducing our own waste, as well as assisting our customers to do the same. In 2020 Printwaste recycled over 90% of all of the material that was collected and processed by our two Cheltenham based sites.

Set up in 2010 by letsrecycle.com, the Zero Waste scheme has more than 500 members and recognises business and organisations committed to increasing the amount of waste that they reduce, reuse and recycle.  The award entries are separated into 10 different categories, which enables organisations to benchmark themselves against similar sectors.

Don Robins, Managing Director of Printwaste comments, “We are so proud to have been recognised in the Zero Waste Awards for the consistent work that we do to support our clients and the communities that we operate in. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to working with our clients, understanding that a ‘one-size-fits-all approach’ does not work.  Instead, we work to understand what businesses are trying to achieve and their objectives, how they are currently working with their existing waste supplier (if they have one) and then proposing a solution for the way forward. We support them in a journey of zero to landfill, which further underpins their business goals and objectives.”

The winners of the Zero Waste Awards were announced at an informal luncheon on 19 November 2021 at Millbrook Tower in London.

We are delighted to be so highly regarded as one of the most sustainable waste preventing businesses in 2021. Whatever the waste stream, we work together with our customers to find the most sustainable treatment route for their waste and recycling, working in line with the Government’s waste hierarchy guidance.  We believe that going into 2022 we can work with more businesses to help them achieve their sustainability and net zero targets.
